Eston has a four-day weekend!
Today is el Dia de la Constitucion and Saturday is Inmaculada Concepcion, so they just throw Friday in there as well.
Yesterday we talked about what he wanted to do on his days off from school and number one on his list was building sand castles at the beach.
After leisurely eating our breakfast we headed towards the coast this morning and arrived in Platja d'Aro by 11am.
This is not a beach I would typically go to--it caters to British and German retirees--but they were having a Christmas market and I thought we would go check it out.
The weather was a bit chilly, but it was just gorgeous out!
The beach was empty, so we found a nice spot and Eston got right to playing.
He kept saying, "Oh, Mom, I love the beach!"
I had on two sweaters and a scarf (was sitting on my jacket because I forgot our beach towels, whoops!) and having the bright sun on my face felt so wonderful.
A couple of boats went by and Eston was watching them with his binoculars.
There was a nice stone path next to the sand, so I got Eston's bike out of the car and we had a nice walk/ride.
There he is with his blue helmet:
The Christmas Market was small, but fun, and we tasted a few Christmas treats before heading home.
This beach town is less than 30 minutes away, so it is a super easy morning or afternoon trip.
