Els Tres Reis Mags

Last night was the parade for the three Kings, so we spent the day preparing.
The kids had a little stomach virus on Friday, so I made them rest on Saturday and most of Sunday so we wouldn't miss the fun.
They both seemed completely fine by Saturday afternoon, so I was no longer concerned.

Anyway, we made crowns while Rory was out training:
We used lots of glitter and made beautiful crowns to wear to the parade.
Eston was so excited about meeting friends to watch the parade.
Here he is showing off his crown and the dragon in which to collect the candy the kings throw to the crowd...
The parade begins at 6:30 (quite early by Catalan standards) and the pre-parade show begins at 4:30, so we went over to the park to check things out.
Eston loves to see the horses and such and Aurelia was staring at everything.
Just taking it all in!

Last year I forgot to charge the battery in my camera.
That was not the case this year.
Let me tell you, that battery was charged.
I know this because I forgot to put the battery back in the camera.
Yes.
For the second year in a row, I had to take photos on my camera.
One of these years I will figure it out.

We found our friends and found a good spot to watch.
Last year we made the mistake of going to the end of the parade route, which was just down the street from our apartment.
We didn't realize the parade is 2.5 hours long and waited forever.
This year we were towards the beginning of the route.
Much better choice!
The parade came by at about 6:45 and kept going for about 40 minutes or so.
Just amazing, really.

After the parade we went with everyone to get some dinner.
I should have know something was up when Eston fell asleep in Aurelia's stroller in the pizza place, but we thought he was just tired.
We enjoyed hanging out with friends a bit longer and then headed home.
To my delight, the parade had ended and everyone was "off duty" heading down our street.
They shouted greetings to the kids and by this time Eston was awake and Aurelia was still going strong at 9:15pm (she really is Catalan). It was fun to see everything again as we walked home!
We got home and Eston went straight to the bathroom and vomited.
Awesome.
He seems absolutely fine today, so fingers crossed it was just "too much parade" mixed with some leftover virus??
The kids were excited to wake up and see a couple of small gifts from the Kings next to their beds.
We took the gifts downstairs and opened them before breakfast.

I am not sure if these videos will work...
